Not necessarily. If your existing cameras support ONVIF (most modern IP cameras do — including Hikvision, Amcrest, Reolink, and Dahua), we can integrate them into the SENTRI system without replacing anything. If you already have UniFi Protect, we can add AI capabilities to your existing setup. Old analog CCTV systems are the exception — those typically need to be replaced to take full advantage of what SENTRI can do.

Nobody but you. SENTRI processes everything locally on hardware installed in your home or property. Your video never leaves your network to be stored on Amazon, Google, or any third-party cloud. The AI analysis runs on a local device on your premises. This is one of the core reasons people choose SENTRI over Ring, Nest, or Arlo — complete privacy and ownership of your footage.

During your installation, we conduct a Face Enrollment Session — we capture clear images of each household member and label them in the system. We also log your household vehicles and license plates. Within a week of normal use, the system's confidence improves significantly as it sees familiar faces in different lighting and angles. You can add new people (babysitter, housekeeper, regular guests) at any time through a simple process we walk you through.

Your monthly fee covers ongoing system maintenance, firmware and software updates, AI model improvements, technical support, and minor configuration changes (like adding a new family member or adjusting alert rules). Here's the critical difference from Ring or ADT: their monthly fee is what you pay just to access your own footage and use cloud storage. Cancel Ring and your cameras go dark. Cancel SENTRI's support plan and your system keeps recording, your AI keeps running, and your WhatsApp alerts keep coming — you just won't get our proactive maintenance and support. You own the system outright.

Because SENTRI processes everything locally, your internet speed doesn't affect camera performance or AI analysis. You need a reasonable home internet connection (25Mbps+) only for remote access — so you can check your cameras or chat with SENTRI when you're away from home. Local performance is independent of internet speed entirely.

Absolutely. SENTRI runs 24/7 on your local hardware regardless of whether we're reachable. The AI, recording, alerts, and WhatsApp notifications all operate independently. You're never dependent on us being online for your security system to function. Our support is for updates and improvements, not for day-to-day operation.
